#1. About CurvyErotic
Presented in blog format with posts since 2011, CurvyErotic.com focuses, as they say, on the curvy side of erotic or nude art (for men and women). Content comes from a variety of sites like Sex Art, Only Tease, Zishy, and Playboy. It covers things like posing and stripping various outfits in various settings, besides a few lesbian scenes. Models can be young or MILFs, and everything in between, but all have great curves, some are even bona fide BBWs.
#2. First Impressions
Having impressed us with its name, the initial visit is a mixed bag of erotic and frustrating. A giant robot icon (JM) greeted me, which messed up the whole design. It was supposed to be 16x16 or 32x32 pixels but, instead, got enlarged to the size of CurvyErotic’s logo. It looks unprofessional and gives terrible vibes from the start. Then, there’s a list of outbound text links, a sidebar ad, and the content on the left side. Opening the article works like a blog with one featured image followed by a whole gallery. There’s a tag section at the bottom of the gallery, which helps to find new or related content. For example, sluts with tattoos, high heels, etc. It’s more extensive than just tags by hair color, and that’s good.
Another usability bug that I’ve discovered on CurvyErotic was with its gallery plugin. It follows a classic layout with one large picture and a row of tiny thumbnails at the bottom (8 to 10). Unfortunately, those small images never worked; all I had were black rectangles. It could be a compatibility issue with a browser, but we’re talking about two bugs that presented themselves in around two minutes. That’s not exactly something to boast about, right? Also, I think it’s the webmaster’s reasonability to make the site work with all updated browsers and make it pleasant for the human eye.
#3. Content & User Experience
Because of the CurvyErotic site’s layout, it's hard to say how many galleries it has, but there are over 500 pages with ten thumbs to each one or, in other words, 5,000+ photo sets. Picture quality is good, but nothing to write home about. Also, some sites like Scoreland got less than stellar resolution uploads. All the galleries on Curvy Erotic are split into categories such as Asian, bikini, ebony, exotic, glasses, hairy pussy, lesbian, leather, and secretary, but there are quite a few more. You can download individual images but with no option to save whole sets. By download, it’s a picture that opens in a new window without gallery scripts or the old-school way. Then, you can right-click on it and hit the save button. Yes, the way we used to do things in the 2000s and to this day, it’s the most efficient experience for me. Unfortunately, all these smooth gallery viewers ruin the whole thing with partially shown pictures that you can’t properly enlarge or open a few simultaneously without some mouse trickery.
It is an old site, and when I spoke about its layout, the same issue applies to CurvyErotic’s blog script. In other words, it poses some navigational challenges:
- You must click on older posts without the option to skip to a particular page.
- You only get a basic search function, a list of sites under "categories" when you scroll down, and a categories section in the header.
- There's no actual model index; it's just a list of three dozen webcam models and a model’s section with eight girls.
It’s OK to stick with things that work and need changes when nothing is broken, but browsing CurvyErotic is a bit of a chore. Also, having said that, to end on a high note, you won't see too many ads here, just a few banners and some text links for other sites. Is this a compromise its visitors are willing to accept? It seems so.
#4. Conclusion
This site requires some design updates, and there are many awesome other sites. If you have time and patience, browse around. You get all sorts of curvy babes in erotic and nude photos, which makes CurvyErotic.com a somewhat decent treat.
