#1. About Pornflix
Pornflix is a new tube site focused on speed and video quality above all else - including web design. At first, you might confuse it for a search engine because its design seems to consist only of its logo. Okay, we're not here to critique their design but to provide details. There used to be other implementations of content delivery on Pornflix before that (as the site has been active since 1998), but the latest approach is all about performance.
#2. First Impressions
It’s not a search engine but a tube with a light layout; that’s the first impression you’ll get upon visiting Pornflix. The positivity ends there because every other feature is a miss. No, let me paraphrase that. There are no features nor sorting options, and as soon as you try to add some order to the chaos of search results, it goes from interesting to confusing.
By the end of my visit, I was confused about the whole idea of Pornflix.com and why they would even choose to launch it. Before you call me a hater, I think it’s time for me to talk more about the content and user experience.
#3. Content & User Experience
The Pornflix website is fast, and we were impressed with the video quality. While the site doesn't offer HD streaming, its regular streams are remarkably high quality. The video selection seems random, so you must search or go through page-by-page. That's a massive drawback because every other porn site, free or paid, does a 10x times better job giving users a choice. Not to mention that discovery features suck on Pornflix. The quality is random, although that makes at least some sense since they allow anyone to upload videos without much care in the world. Overall, I'm not a big fan of the design, but it does the trick, especially because there are no ads. So, a clear browsing experience is ensured, but at what cost?
One of the biggest drawbacks I want to include in a whole new paragraph is no filtering. Search for “anal porn” and you’ll get same results. That’s it. Better write down the page numbers because there are no other ways to sort the content by.
Regarding adult content, Pornflix also has a photo section with thousands of albums. However, some of these albums include one picture each. Not to mention that the pictures themselves are random. I’ve had high expectations for this category, dreaming of original amateur content, live cam uploads, kinky pictures from Pornflix fans, etc. Instead, it’s a large pool of random, rehosted pictures that aren’t all original and just a meh place to be. Did I mention that there are no sorting options? Imagine a picture site without an option to browse by views, votes, popularity, date, or any criteria. Like, what the hell is happening here?
#4. Conclusion
I feel like Pornflix is a niche tube site that tries to be all edgy and cool by not offering much, yet it falls short of today’s users’ expectations. It’s fine to make your site load faster than the speed of light; it’s also great that people think outside the box. However, the implementation is not that great, and chances are, you’ll not return to this site for seconds. Unless, again, Netflix got you by the balls, and you’re their targeted audience of cool hipsters.
