#1. About StoriesOnline.net
StoriesOnline.net is an excellent site where you can read thousands of different stories in every genre possible, post your own, and interact with authors and readers.
#2. First Impressions
Upon first visit, the site will prompt you to register in the worst way possible. No, not by utilizing a nasty script but by sheer confusion. It has the worst out-of-touch reality appearance that you’ll ever experience. Seriously, it’s the most horrible thing ever. Yes, we did criticize Literotica and related sites, but this one requires cursing in god’s name. A horrible background full of books followed by the oldest, non-styled buttons. Can it get any worse than that? Yes! You have no clue what to do. There are login and create free account links and a site preview link. Again, no single button is highlighted, no call to action; what a waste of space and opportunity. At least do a better job explaining what this start page is all about.
Is there a reason for that when you could feature an explanatory banner that can be hidden? It has the same info, just without the nasty landing page. Okay, once you figure it all out and before deciding what to do, users can read sample chapters. Just hit that “preview site” button, and you’ll go from nonsense to dozens of top-rated stories that will work as a site preview. As a free member, you can read 16 stories daily from a collection of over 50,000, vote, use the forum, contact writers, and follow them.
#3. Content & User Experience
The stories are excellently written, at least the top-rated ones, and include categories such as sci-fi, fantasy, horror, time travel, romance, BDSM, anal pleasures, mind control, and fan fiction. The content on Stories Online includes short stories and long stories, which are practical books, as well as ongoing series, and everything uploaded to the site can be voted for by readers. However, to appear in the top list, it must also fulfill specific criteria. The only way to quickly download stories (HTML, plain text, eBook reader, Kindle, EPUB) is to pay for a premium account. It also gives you 100 stories daily, an improved user interface, many customization options, a more advanced search, and other useful features.
The design of StoriesOnline.net needs to be updated, but it's very intuitive and clean. The front page features archive stories, author blogs, serial updates, new stories, etc. To the left are different top lists and a basic search. On top of that, you have sections including new stories, updates, an A-Z of authors and stories, a category search, and an excellent advanced search. Besides, blogs, story reviews, contests, and "universes" or collections/series exist. Best of all, this site has many visitors and active members, making up a great community.
While I’ve whined a lot about the landing page, the overall look and feel of StoriesOnline are on a modern site - at least the expiation bits. Unfortunately, the stories themselves could lead you to differently styled pages that will, again, confuse you. I think that we’re onto something here. Is the primary purpose of StoriesOnline owners to confuse its guest users so they never return? Considering the quality content, I suggest biting your teeth and plowing through the lousy design ideas, it could be worth it.
#4. Conclusion
Anyone into sex stories and erotica, whether you're a reader or writer, should browse around the vast space of StoriesOnline.net. A site is known for large archives, excellent features, and a large, active community.
