Quick Navigation
#1. About TheHun
Not to be confused with a massive newspaper, “The Sun,” TheHun.net has a little bit of everything, but its focus is on porn galleries. Since what feels like a century ago, 1997, TheHun has been sharing free photo sets and videos in every “modern orientation,” which is gay, lesbian, shemale, or straight.
#2. First Impressions
Even if TheHun looks bizarre, it’s not as “classic” as before its redesign. Believe it or not, the layout you view is “a refresh,” and things were way worse. If you're curious, a text link at the top with a feature to go back a decade. For the rest of us, let me say that you’ve had lines of text with links; that’s it, no thumbnails. Still, the biggest issue is in TheHun’s color scheme. I don’t think people are even doing yellow background pages these days. Although, to their credit, the whole point of TheHun is to be like the Yellow Pages.
At first glance, the content seems interesting and from multiple “user-submitted” sources, but I couldn’t find a way to filter stuff by a studio. So instead, there’s a “hidden” link with categories named “popular.” I felt so stupid because I thought this gallery aggregator didn't even have categories for the first half hour. Now, it’s worth noting that these links are just shortcuts for search because whether you type “ebony” or click on the same tag at the menu, it doesn’t matter as results will be the same.
#3. Content & User Experience
It is a controversial subject, but thanks to infinite scrolling, it takes a lot of work to pinpoint content numbers or achieve the ultimate satisfaction of reaching the end. Yes, it was invented for a reason, and millennials love this shit, so give me a break. TheHun has been around for a long time, so there are more images and clips than many other sites. Please don’t ask us about the exact numbers for this unit of measure.
Whether you're in the mood for barely legal and amateur girls posing or hardcore sex with pornstars, you'll have lots of high-quality material to view here. The small video section features only 24 videos lasting 5-10 minutes on average. Still, you can download it for free and expect decent playback quality when streaming, even if you can't adjust the settings. There is also a section for movies from the 'Popular' drop-down menu, where you can find many promotional videos.
I’m okay with an ugly site if it works, but TheHun.net has a dated design that is confusing and hard to navigate. The theme is divided into different sections, including a blog, videos, overflow (additional galleries), a thumbs-up page featuring popular photos, and an archive where you can list content posted on a specific date. Additionally, you can use a basic search or view popular posts from seven different niches. The overflow feature I don’t understand is that instead of informative text, you have “more” text, as if the whole section is broken. However, this can’t be right. Each of the repeating words links to a different gallery. Also, the entire point of this feature is to honor the deleted or somehow lost picture sets if the memory serves me right.
If you go back to TheHun’s archives, things can get messy, and I fail to realize why the site is yet to be fixed. For example, I’ve been receiving errors like “Uncaught TypeError: count(): Argument #1 ($var) must be of type Countable|array” with a stuck image of “loading more content.” Instead of focusing on “interesting facts” or “today’s image,” which isn’t even relevant or interesting, the The Hun team could polish the site. Also, refreshing the whole design would be a significant requirement. Anyhow, the only thing worth or left mentioning is advertising placements. TheHun has quite a few ads, possible cam ads too, so you'll see two banners after about a dozen thumbs because of the infinite scrolling, some link advertisements here and there, as well as a few pop-ups.
#4. Conclusion
Those who appreciate the content and are okay with a dated design should check TheHun; the numbers are stupendous. Not just for high-quality galleries but short videos too.
