#3. First Impressions & User Navigation

Loading Tuk Tuk Patrol is like visiting your grandmother. She’s old and outdated, yet with a good heart. I know these “riders” are old-school, but you don’t need to match the design to your vehicle. Content filters are part of TukTuk Patrol navigation. There’s a menu at the top with videos (patrols) and some site history in the About section that most visitors will never read. Besides offering downloads in all the default resolutions, TukTukPatrol hosts 1600x1200 photo galleries that, as far as we can tell, can only be viewed separately. Maybe there’s a hidden option to download every picture set in ZIP archives, but I don’t count on this being an option. You either hit that sweet “save as” button all the time or accept the policies of TukTukPatrol and continue viewing everything online.

The video download buttons are all present, and speeds, as well as options, are plentiful. I did not suffer from bandwidth throttling even after multiple downloads, so it’s safe to say that TukTukPatrol is fine in this area. However, we did hear from some members that once in a while, downloads suffered from slow speeds due to data centers or other issues.

Despite its handheld camera and POV angles, Tuk Tuk Patrol is of satisfactory quality. That’s assuming you know how POV videos look, and you shouldn’t expect three different camera lighting systems combined with a RED camera. The scenes are filmed in light rooms, and there’s no noise or grainy artifacts. Just stream a few trailers, and you should be good to go.
